The Dominican Republic secured a 1–0 victory over Curaçao in the first leg of the Final del Clausura 2026, played on Tuesday, June 9, at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium in Santo Domingo. This result gives the home side a slight advantage heading into the decisive return match.
The only goal of the match came in the 35th minute. Forward Edinson Azcona converted a precise cross from winger Dorny Romero, slotting the ball past Curaçao’s goalkeeper, Eloy Room.
Curaçao tried to respond but struggled to break through the Dominican defense. Their best chance came deep into stoppage time when a header from Jurendley Julve hit the crossbar, denying the visitors an equalizer.
The return leg of the total will take place on Saturday, June 13, at the Ergilio Hato Stadium in Willemstad, Curaçao. The aggregate winner will be crowned Clausura champion.
