The 2026 Finlandia Trophy, part of the ISU Challenger Series, will take place from October 7 to 11 in Helsinki. The competition features singles and pairs events. It will be the final Challenger event of the season, held at the Helsinki Ice Hall.
Among the notable entries, two American skaters are confirmed: reigning world champion Ilia Malinin in men's singles, and 2025 world silver medalist Amber Glenn in women's singles.
The total prize fund for the event is $80,000. However, the pair skating competition will have only three entries, which is below the minimum required for a Challenger event. As a result, no Challenger points will be awarded in that discipline.
Later this fall, skaters will compete for the Grand Prix title. The 2026 Grand Prix Final is scheduled for December 10–13 in Lyon, France. The regular Grand Prix series includes six events, leading to a final that brings together the top six qualifiers in each discipline.
Qualification is based on the total competition scores from the Grand Prix events, with the final taking place after the conclusion of the series. In addition, the Challenger Series includes a knockout stage known as the playoffs and a closing segment called the clausura, following the format used in previous seasons.
