Al-Hazem vs Al-Fayha on 11 April
The Guatemalan striker Darwin Lom, currently without a club, will join C.S.D. Xelajú Mario Camposeco for the 2026 season. The “Super Chivos” secured the center-forward’s return after negotiations stalled with other teams in the Liga Nacional. Lom’s last official match was on November 24, 2024, when his previous club, Mixco, lost 1–0 to Xelajú in the Torneo Apertura quarterfinals.
Lom’s last season and current form
During the 2024 Torneo Apertura with Mixco, Darwin Lom recorded a total of four goals and two assists in 1,444 minutes played. His last goal came on October 6, 2024, in a 2–2 draw against Municipal. Lom was not included in Mixco’s squad for the 2025 Clausura. The player has been training individually to maintain his fitness while waiting for a new contract.
Context of the signing
Xelajú needed a forward after the departure of their top scorer from the previous season. The club’s board moved quickly to avoid competition from other local teams. Lom’s experience and physical presence are seen as key assets for the team’s playoff push. The signing is expected to be announced officially in the coming days, with Lom joining preseason training immediately afterward.
